Prince’s musical legacy was celebrated at a retrospective pop-up in Chicago. The Immersive Experience consisted of 10 spaces. I worked on the experience of the Listening Room. It included an interactive quiz accompanied by media and songs from Prince’s catalog. A simple, but engaging touch-screen experience allows fans to answer a few questions about their favorite Prince lyrics, tracks, or themes. The fan’s quiz answers are tallied in the backend and correlated with a Prince persona, theme song, and deep-cuts playlist. Our agency sound designer also created the ambience for the quiz.















Result Personas
We received a list of 30 songs from the Prince Estate that we were authorized to use. We pulled backend API data from Spotify to analyze the songs’ attributes such as genre, danceability, energy, key, speechiness, valence. We grouped similar songs together and came up with these 5 personas; each one would correlate to a curated set of deep-cuts.






Listening Room Considerations
We had more elaborate plans for the physical set of the listening room, but was constrained by the budget, timing, licensing issues, and changing plans from the client.
